“The question then became; how do we express these in the digital environment? And this led to the notion of human-centric technology. How to embed ethical behavior, respect diversity, how to treat people fairly — without bias — through technology. This means that we are focusing more on what we should do with data, rather than what we could do with data.”

Augmented reality (AR) lets you add virtual content to the real world. You can use AR to create experiences that enhance the way people see and interact with the world.
ARCore is a platform for building AR apps. It harnesses the power of Android phones using these key technologies:
- motion tracking
- environmental understanding
- light estimation
ARCore collects that information and uses it to integrate virtual content with the real world.
ARCore works in 2 ways:
It tracks the position of your phone in the real world, and it builds an understanding of your surroundings by identifying walls and floors in the environment.
This spec was created using internal research and analysis of AR experiences in education, shopping, creativity, and gaming. You can use this spec to design practical, innovative, and magical mobile AR experiences.

About Chris Butler
I help teams understand the real business problems they should solve with AI-centered solutions. The teams we work with are generally asked to “do something interesting” with the data they have. We help them avoid local maxima through happenstance correlations and focus on solving huge business problems. My background includes over 18 years of product and business development experience at companies like Microsoft, KAYAK, and Waze. At Philosophie, I have created techniques like Empathy Mapping for the Machine and Confusion Mapping to create cross-team alignment while building AI products. Hello everyone and happy new year!
I am very excited for what the new year will bring us! So much happened in 2017 in the UX/UI Design and Prototyping space! Here are some of the things you should check out in case you missed them. A big one for me was the evolution of symbols in Sketch and design systems as well as collaboration among team members, and easier handoffs and if you work with React, lots of exciting things there too. The last 6 months of 2017 I was pretty busy with a job out of town so I could not organize as many events but I am planning to start the year strong and we'll have events in NYC around: – " Why it's good to prototype early and often" an event on the (crowded) prototyping space and . Good if you are new to the group/space. This an updated presentation I based on – Timeline by Anima App (just released!) – Fuse Tool's improved UI– Framer Studio– InVision Studio – Figma 2.0
Other big announcement was AdobeXD for Windows
Tons of products now have "Studio" in their name as they all rush to become the all-in-one tool to designers. 🚀 Sketch Workshops in January: – Basic if you are starting now – Advanced if you want to learn more advanced workflows or techniques. Depending on availability, I organize custom workshop for teams. What would you like to learn or improve in 2018?
Ciao, Francesco

QR codes aren’t limited to being scanned with the camera (although it's their primary use). If you come across a QR code on iOS 11 and press-and-hold to save the image, iOS will detect the code’s contents and offer to act on it similar to the native camera app.
QR code adoption over the past few years may have been lackluster but Apple’s native support of it in iOS 11 could give it a bump into the mainstream. Although QR codes have some advantages in the real world, applying them creatively and appropriately will be the challenge.
