While I'm currently a freelance Creative Director / Writer based in New York, my career began in Seattle, working at a number of small, creative agencies. The work was always inspiring but honestly, that rain! So I fled with my husband, our 150 pound mastiff, and my art director partner to join up with the then-fledgling Deutsch, New York. Once at Deutsch, I ran multiple accounts including Snapple and Ikea –writing and directing a bunch of successful multi-platform campaigns. I also pitched and won many accounts for the agency, including Snapple, Footlocker, Dominos and Verizon. By the time I left Deutsch to join BBDO to run Visa, the agency had quintupled in size and had garnered multiple titles of Agency of Year. And had seen Donny shirtless in meetings on 13 separate occasions. After a stint at BBDO running Visa and pitching and winning business, I left to begin creating and directing content and short-form for VH1 and MTV. These projects led to pitching, selling and directing several TV pilots. It was an adventure. Fun, but I discovered that if advertising is a roller-coaster, working in TV is a roller coaster after you’ve consumed a lot of fruit punch. Following that, I joined mrm NY, a primarily social/digital shop as the ECD of Integrated Content. There, I created and directed content/ social projects for clients including General Mills, Wal-Mart, Toy R Us (sorry, I don't know how to type the "R" backwards) and multiple Diageo brands. Leaving mrm, I joined mcgarrybowen as an ECD on the Verizon account where I helmed 360 work across all parts of the business, from Innovation, to Apple and Samsung partnerships, and Droid -- most notably creating the “#48hours" Ed Norton campaign for Droid. This work reestablished the lagging brand, tripled sales and snagged multiple industry awards and recognition along the way. While there, I helped to grow the business by over 20 million in additional billings with wins in incremental projects. In between these permanent gigs, I freelanced for many, many agencies on many, many accounts including Budweiser, Quiznos, Doritos, Coke, NBC/Universal, and a memorable stint on KY Jelly that resulted in no produced work but two very good stories.
