Have you ever hired someone with six years of experience only to have them leave your company in under a year because they've found "the next big role?" Most students at code schools desperately want to find competitive careers and work their hardest to complete their coursework while pursuing their own creative projects. It's time to give them a chance!
Schools like General Assembly teach each course with the intentions of turning thinkers into creators. Many of these awesome people are still searching for work while job sites either ignore their applications, send generalized and impersonal rejection letters,or say the candidate is not qualified without having even requested a portfolio or a resume.
I want to see code school graduates succeed. General Assembly Treehouse, CodeCademy, and FreeCodeCamp have taught me how to build my own websites, market my business, strengthen the skills I had to make something great of myself, but nobody wanted to hire me.
