Startup, New York, NY – 1/10/2017 employees
Tampostat™ is a self-regulating, low cost, emergency obstetric device designed specifically for use in low-resource settings by greatly increasing safety, efficacy, and ease-of-use over existing condom tamponades. With minimal training, a birth attendant in the field will be able to successfully administer Tampostat for about $1.50 USD.
Tampostat was chosen as a recipient of the 2014 Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development seed grant sponsored by USAID, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, and UKAID.
