State of Place is a predictive urban data analytics software that forecasts the value-add of making places better. We help cities and developers heighten their economic competitiveness by maximizing and communicating the value of creating walkable, livable communities. We do this by quantifying what people love (and don't) about places based on 290 built environment data points we collect and predicting how urban design improvements impact office rents, retail rents and revenues, and residential rents and for-sale values. September 20124,500 4 1,100,000 1 Our typical customers are cities who are striving to enhance their economic competitiveness through "place-based" approaches, like increasing walkability and enhancing quality of life. They understand or are starting to understand that traditional economic development approaches, in which cities rely solely on tax incentives and attractive financial packages to lure firms, and along with it, people, to locate there, are ineffective and becoming obsolete. To date, we've worked closely with four concierge customers; we began taking one-pre orders two weeks ago, and have acquired one-preorder.
To date, our customer acquisition process has been organic, resulting from our Founder's extensive network, speaking engagements, publications, and earned media. We are now using targeted, more scalable customer acquisition strategies, including our robust lead generation/email process, customer testimonials and referrals, and case studies. We will pursue channel partners with established design/planning/real estate advisory services firms who service our customer archetype and identify strategic partners that can help raise our brand awareness and provide access to high-profile customers.
